The comprehensive CASC Communication Skills Course!
You are probably already aware of the importance of communication skills in CASC; you may have the misconception that there is only so much you can do about your current level of skills. Well I am here to tell you that anything can be learnt with the right information and plenty of practice. Demonstrating empathy for example is a trainable skill!
In this course I take you through some of the important aspects you will need to be aware of if you want maximum marks in the communications aspect of each station and if you want to walk into the exam with full confidence and belief. I do not discuss any clinical aspects because I believe this is not the cause of people failing!
You may have heard the stats with regards to CASC rate for people with different backgrounds and ethnicity. I highly doubt this is due to variance in clinical skills alone which again just proves optimal communication is a fundamental skill required as a Psychiatrist and thus focused on in the CASC exam.
